Timestamp – Ukrainian Spring Film Marathon

March 28 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Ukrainian Spring Film Marathon returns on March 28 with “Timestamp,” a documentary following the everyday lives of teachers and students from different corners of Ukraine.

The evening includes an introductory presentation, the film screening, and a post-film discussion and Q&A.

About “Timestamp”

Keeping schools open in Ukraine is about recreating at least some of the normal life children had before the war began in February 2022 (or 2014, in some places). Through observation rather than interviews, narration, or reenactments, “Timestamp” provides insight into how the war is affecting students and teachers. The film has a mosaic-like structure: it explores how a school functions in-person and online during these terrible times, both on and off the frontline, and how daily life is fraught with constant danger.

By intimately documenting a year in the lives of students and teachers in Ukraine as they face the challenges of schooling during wartime, the film sheds light on how the war shapes the educational experience.
