Who We Are
Nova Ukraine is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine and raising awareness about Ukraine in the United States and throughout the world. Thanks to your generous donations, we fund a variety of projects to help the people of Ukraine and to strengthen Ukraine’s democratic society. The Nova Ukraine team and volunteers have been working tirelessly to help those in need. We greatly appreciate the overwhelming support from the community. Our Impact So Far
Since 2014, Nova Ukraine has run a variety of successful humanitarian projects in Ukraine. Since 2022 to date, we have raised over $180 million and have helped over 12 million Ukrainians with an operating expense percentage in single digits.

The system connects all critical school infrastructure to backup power, including the main building, kitchen, lighting, water supply, shelter, boiler room, and a second school building. It IS integrated with the existing generator so multiple backup sources can work together.
With the new system in place, the school can stay open across the entire facility during outages. Approximately 108 students are expected to attend in the 2026/2027 academic year.
Together, we’re keeping the lights on in Ukraine.
Points of Invincibility — a network of 56 warming centers established by Nova Ukraine with the support of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation inside Ukraine’s railway stations — are open and responding. We operate them in partnership with Ukrzaliznytsia.
Our volunteer Vita was on the ground in Kyiv. In her words:
"Today, we handed out about a thousand bottles of water and tea. The alert would end, we would go back up, and fifteen minutes later we would go back down because a new alert would start. It was one of the hardest days of work."
We’re here helping Ukrainians stay safe, even in times like this.

The day also brought the signing of a declaration establishing it as Ukrainian-American Friendship and Heritage Day in San Francisco, an official recognition of the deep ties between the Ukrainian community and the city.
As we mark 35 years of Ukrainian independence today, we say thank you to every person who continues to support Ukraine.
Today we’re celebrating the freedom to carry that heritage forward. Americans and Ukrainians are united in their belief in democracy and self-determination.
