Kira is nearly five years old and loves to dance. But even a little dancing would leave her tired!

Kira was born with a heart condition called patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), which happens when a blood vessel that should close after birth stays open. With the help of spiral systems from Nova Ukraine, doctors at the Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kyiv performed the vital surgery just before Kira turned five.

Kira will be recovering for the next couple of months, , but soon she will be able to dance as much as she wants!

Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy. Nova Ukraine's HEAL pillar helps hospitals access the medical equipment children like Kira need to live active, healthy lives.
