Who We Are
Nova Ukraine is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine and raising awareness about Ukraine in the United States and throughout the world. Thanks to your generous donations, we fund a variety of projects to help the people of Ukraine and to strengthen Ukraine’s democratic society. The Nova Ukraine team and volunteers have been working tirelessly to help those in need. We greatly appreciate the overwhelming support from the community. Our Impact So Far
Since 2014, Nova Ukraine has run a variety of successful humanitarian projects in Ukraine. Since 2022 to date, we have raised over $180 million and have helped over 15 million Ukrainians with an operating expense percentage in single digits.

We started at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting, joining thousands of changemakers focused on turning ideas into measurable action.
There, the Nova Ukraine team took part in numerous discussions, including the Ukraine Action Network Working Session. Nova Ukraine CEO Amb. Erin E. McKee shared the results of the 9th Ukraine Action Summit, which concluded with the passage of the Russia sanctions bill.
Together with Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture, Nova Ukraine co-organized a series of events focused on Ukrainian cultural heritage. Amb. Erin McKee took part in the expert discussion “Crimes against Ukrainian Culture as Part of Russia’s Genocidal War,” addressing Russia’s attacks on and appropriation of Ukrainian cultural heritage.
The program also included a photo exhibition exploring the history of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and a lecture dedicated to its history and significance.
Throughout the week, we discussed future projects in Ukraine, built new connections with potential partners, and saw firsthand that global support for Ukraine remains strong.
The photo exhibition “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra: 975 Years of History - 100 Years of Responsible Preservation” brings together historical and contemporary images documenting the Lavra’s history, preservation, destruction, and restoration.
The exhibition also features “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Spatial Archive” (2026), documenting the Russian strike on the Dormition Cathedral on June 14-15, 2026.
At a time when Russia’s war continues to threaten Ukraine’s cultural heritage, these photographs remind us: preserving heritage means preserving memory and identity for future generations.

Ukraine’s heritage is part of the world’s shared cultural heritage.
On September 29–30, 1941, Nazi German forces and their auxiliaries murdered 33,771 Jewish men, women, and children at Babyn Yar in Kyiv, one of the largest mass atrocities of the Holocaust.
The killing did not end there. Through 1943, Babyn Yar remained a site of mass murder. Jews, Roma, Ukrainian civilians, Soviet prisoners of war, and others were killed there. An estimated 100,000 people were killed at Babyn Yar in total.
Memory is a responsibility: to preserve the truth, name what happened, and ensure that attempts to erase history do not succeed.
May their memory be eternal.
The Academy has been the home of Ukrainian science for more than a century. Generations of researchers have built their careers there. Today's strike shows once again that Russia has no regard for innocent Ukrainian lives or culture.
Now, 10 medical institutions across Ukraine have new specialized surgical instruments designed for precision. The assistance was provided through Nova Ukraine’s HEAL pillar, supporting teams in vascular surgery, microsurgery, neurosurgery, and other highly specialized procedures.
In a healthcare system under extraordinary strain, emergency response and stronger standards of care are deeply connected. Staying close to medical teams on the ground helps us understand where specialized support can matter most and respond as those needs evolve.
We are grateful to SCANLAN International for donating these instruments and helping Ukrainian medical teams deliver advanced care when the stakes are high.
State Emergency Services of Ukraine (SESU) are a backbone of support for civilians, working on the ground every day as one of the most immediate links between communities and critical assistance. Nova Ukraine is proud to support these brave men and women.
The need remains vast. As of September 24, SESU reported 286,965 emergency responses related to the war since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, including 40,765 fires extinguished and 8,378 people rescued.
