When Mariia first joined Vector of Resilience, stepping away from the veterans and families who depended on her felt almost impossible.

Her experience, shared in our earlier story When the Pain Becomes a Part of You, reflects a challenge faced by veteran support specialists across Ukraine: caring for others while struggling to find the time and space to care for themselves.

Now, all 60 specialists from 37 communities across Volyn Oblast have completed the three-stage pilot program.

Over 44 hours of training, participants developed practical tools to prevent burnout, navigate difficult situations, and strengthen their ability to support veterans and their families.

With the pilot complete, Nova Ukraine and its partners are evaluating the results and exploring how this approach could support specialists in other regions.
