Childhood Without War: A Legacy of Love Against All Odds
Every war is a war against children. Since the full-scale invasion in 2022, over two thousand children lost their lives. Countless more have been injured, lost their parents and homes, and are now facing indescribable uncertainty. At Nova Ukraine, we strive to protect every child who is suffering because of russia’s unjust war in Ukraine. For over three years, we have been supporting the “Childhood Without War” project for 484 orphaned Ukrainian children and their caretakers in Türkiye. This project provides not only housing and five meals a day but also cutting-edge education, medical assistance, and psychological support, helping these children achieve a fraction of normalcy in these turbulent times. Let us share some of the impactful stories throughout our collaboration. One of the charges, who remains unnamed, has taken it upon himself to create paintings and give all the proceeds from the sales to charities. Each art piece is this boy’s love and gratitude to those protecting our land. On Independence Day, “Childhood Without War” held a charity fair, during which many of the boy’s paintings found new owners. One of his latest paintings is “Winter’s Tale,” and all the collected funds went on to help Ukraine and its people.
