Today, the United States and Ukraine signed a landmark agreement to launch the United States–Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund — a joint initiative to drive Ukraine’s postwar recovery and attract global investment.
Key elements of the agreement:
- Equal decision-making between the U.S. and Ukraine
- Ukrainian sovereignty over land and resources
- Investment-based funding. Assistance provided before would not be counted as debt
- Alignment with Ukraine’s European integration path
“This agreement signals clearly to Russia that the Trump Administration is committed to a peace process centered on a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine over the long term,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated.

This agreement marks a significant step in Ukraine’s post-war recovery and demonstrates a commitment to a sovereign and prosperous future. The signing was preceded by approvals in Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament), and additional agreements specifying important technical details are expected in the coming months.
