“A platform of inspiration for the future peace process”

Ending long-running wars requires coordinated international efforts. With this in mind, the Global Peace Summit will take place on June 15-16, 2024 in the Bürgenstock resort, near Lake Lucerne in central Switzerland. The summit aims to develop a path toward a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, with over 90 national delegations confirmed. Ukraine will present its 10-point peace formula, emphasizing justice and ending the war.

russia, pushing for Ukraine’s surrender and continued control of occupied territories, is excluded from the summit. Representatives from 82 countries participated in thematic peace talks in Davos in January 2024, showing global interest in Ukraine’s proposal. The peace formula highlights long-lasting peace, accountability, and recovery, asserting that Russia must withdraw and pay for the damages.

“[…] there were attempts to freeze the war […] But Putin is a predator who is not satisfied with frozen products.” – Volodymyr Zelensky

The Peace Summit aims to secure peace in Ukraine and worldwide. It’s about repairing the devastating impacts caused by russia and charting a path toward rebuilding Ukraine. For the global community, it shows that aggressors should not be allowed to dictate the terms of peace settlements.

The Peace Summit will address issues that affect everyone, not just Ukraine, highlighting how the war endangers the entire global community. There are three main priorities for the summit: (1) nuclear security, (2) food security, and (3) the return of Ukrainian children kidnapped by russia from occupied territories.

  1. Nuclear Security: russia’s occupation of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant in the Zaporizhzhia region has heightened the threat of a nuclear disaster.
  2. Food Security: Food instability, which is closely tied to political and economic instability in many countries, could be mitigated by Ukraine’s grain exports.
  3. Return of Kidnapped Children: Ukraine is not only suffering the loss of lives but also the abduction of its future generation. russia has taken around 700,000 Ukrainian children, as even russia admits.

The summit underscores the necessity of addressing these issues to restore global stability and security. Ukraine continues to rally global support to end the war *justly* and mitigate its consequences. The summit is an opportunity to recognize the global consequences of the war and take action.

“And to overcome this evil, to overcome the war, we need the maximum unity of the world. We achieve the results together”
–  Volodymyr Zelensky

The Peace Summit rallies global support for Ukraine, highlighting the global consequences of the war. This forum urges leaders to recognize these impacts and take action. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine requires meaningful contributions to end it and mitigate its effects. We call on others to join this critical mission.

Support from close allies, including the US, is essential. On June 3, 2024, the White House announced that Vice President Kamala Harris and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan will join Ukraine’s effort to discuss peace.

Nova Ukraine continues to support Ukraine’s fight for liberty through various projects and initiatives, emphasizing the importance of international solidarity and advocacy efforts.

Game On!

How Pétanque is Helping Ukraine’s Veterans Build a League of Their Own On September 19-20, Lviv’s Stryiskyi Park transformed into a full-blown sports arena, with Ukrainian flags snapping overhead, families and coaches packed along the sidelines, and veteran support groups cheering from the edges of 25 specially built gravel lanes. This was the Grand Final of the 2026 All-Ukrainian Veterans Pétanque League: the year’s fourth and decisive tournament, and by far the biggest. 50 veteran teams, including 165 competitors, from 20 cities across Ukraine, came to compete hard and stand shoulder to shoulder with others who understand exactly what they’ve been through. Organized by our partner NGO Marlog-Caducei, supported by Nova Ukraine, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Lviv City Council, the tournament drew record crowds, as the trophy was captured by the Lviv team, Nezlamni, Nasha Gryae. From Eco Picnic to Eco Film Festival

With Nova Ukraine’s support for the second year in a row, Ukrainian nonprofit Chysto.De?!—whose name translates as “Clean.Where?!”—is expanding environmental education and creating new opportunities for Ukrainian eco-cinema. At this year’s ECO FILM FESTIVAL, organized by Chysto.De?! on August 15–16 at MC6 Creative Residence in Slavske, visitors watched Ukrainian and international environmental documentaries, attended lectures and public discussions, joined hands-on workshops, and explored a market of sustainable local crafts. Children and teenagers spent the weekend learning the basics of documentary storytelling, filming nature around them, experimenting with stop-motion animation, and presenting their own short films at the closing ceremony. For Nova Ukraine project manager Yevheniya Chuchko, it was the part of the festival that stayed with her most.

The First Step Toward a Ukraine Without Pain

Ten Ukrainian military doctors complete the first pain management course of the Ukraine Without Pain project, supported by Nova Ukraine and hosted at Feofaniya Hospital. When a doctor learns a new way to treat pain, that knowledge can travel far beyond a training room. It can shape the care they provide to patients and the practices they share with colleagues. That is the idea behind the Ukraine Without Pain project: teams teaching teams to strengthen medical care for people affected by the war. With the support of Nova Ukraine and several other partners, the first training course in the project’s “Pain Management for Patients with Combat-Related Injuries” track has been completed at Feofaniya Hospital. This is an important first step in a continuing effort to support Ukrainian medical professionals with practical training and opportunities to learn from one another. Inside the Five-Day Course
