Offering housing to all refugees fleeing Ukraine

This builds on Airbnb.org’s work with a number of other organizations worldwide. Recently, Airbnb.org has announced collaborations with Refugees Welcome Italia, Bienvenida, a project of the NGO PxP Embassy e.V, and Rescate, Red Acoge and Diaconía Madrid, to offer housing to refugees in Italy, Germany and Spain, respectively. Airbnb.org continues to support the International Organization for Migration, HIAS, Nova Ukraine and Save the Children Sweden and work with the government of Germany, to connect people fleeing from Ukraine to free, short-term housing across Europe. Airbnb.org is also coordinating directly with the US federal government to support their commitment to welcome up to 100,000 refugees fleeing Ukraine to the US.

These target the Russian defense sector and the foreign suppliers propping it up, and they go after Putin's so-called shadow fleet of tankers that has quietly financed this invasion for years.

When the Lights Go Out, Childhood Shouldn’t Have To

A new solar power system at a high school in Chernihiv Oblast will help keep heat, water, classrooms, and its shelter running through Ukraine’s hardest winters, giving students something children everywhere should be able to count on: school. Last winter, a school in Chernihiv Oblast had more days without power than with it. When the grid went down, the generators on site weren’t strong enough to power the building. Heating failed. The shelter went cold. Students who should have been in class were logging on remotely instead — if they could log on at all. This winter will be different.

Nova Ukraine Supports Independent Anti-Corruption Investigation, Emphasizes Due Process 

(KYIV, Ukraine)--Following Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s resignation amid a NABU/SAPO investigation into an alleged scheme involving officials in the Prosecutor General’s Office and fraudulent call centers, Nova Ukraine CEO Ambassador Erin E. McKee issued the following statement: “We welcome this investigation. Accountability and the rule of law are essential to a well-functioning democracy. Nobody is above the law.While we support NABU and SAPO, we also advocate for due process, evidence, and independent judicial review. And we expect the government to safeguard the independence of anti-corruption institutions.We support a full, independent, and transparent investigation of all individuals implicated. Any credible allegations of wrongdoing involving public officials - including officials within law-enforcement or anti-corruption institutions - should likewise be investigated independently and according to the law.The same rule must apply to everyone: investigate where the evidence leads, protect due process, and let independent courts determine guilt.”
