The results are in: Nova Ukraine has taken first and second place awards at the Charitable Ukraine’s 2025 Awards, Ukraine’s most prestigious national philanthropy competition. Out of 1,698 applications from nonprofits and socially responsible organizations across Ukraine and the world, Nova Ukraine earned high honors in two categories:

  • First Place — International Support
  • Second Place — Charity in Education and Science

This is the second consecutive year Nova Ukraine has earned top recognition from Charitable Ukraine. At the June 2026 ceremony in Kyiv, first-place winners received the iconic “Angel of Goodness”—a hand-crafted ceramic statuette that has become Ukraine’s national symbol of humanitarian service.

About the Competition

Now in its 19th year, Charitable Ukraine is the premier annual competition honoring volunteers, NGOs, philanthropists, and socially responsible businesses making a difference in Ukraine and beyond. This year’s competition featured 28 categories, drawing applications from organizations working across defense, healthcare, education, culture, ecology, and international aid.

Standing Up for Ukraine from Abroad

The International Support category recognizes international organizations delivering sustained, meaningful support to Ukraine from outside its borders.

Since 2014, Nova Ukraine has mobilized the Ukrainian-American diaspora and supporters around the world to deliver humanitarian aid and services where it’s needed most: medical supplies, emergency shelter, food, heating systems, and more—to displaced families and communities near frontlines. In 2025 alone, this work reached hundreds of thousands of people across Ukraine.

First place recognition in this category is a reflection of what our global community keeps proving: that coordinated, committed international support has real impact on the ground.

Educating the Next Generation

Nova Ukraine’s second award recognizes the work of our Empower team—dedicated to rebuilding access to education and opportunity in communities across Ukraine.

The “Charity in Education and Science” category honors organizations investing in Ukraine’s next generation. Our work here includes funding learning centers for children displaced by war, supporting career development programs, and providing psychosocial care to help students and educators navigate the ongoing weight of conflict. Because rebuilding Ukraine isn’t only happening on the frontlines.

The Bigger Picture

These awards belong to everyone who made this work possible—the volunteers who show up year after year, the partner organizations that step in when it counts, and the donors who understand that sustained giving changes outcomes in ways one-time support simply can’t. And most of all, to the people in Ukraine who carry the weight of this war while continuing to build their country’s future.

Nova Ukraine is proud to be recognized alongside the many individuals, businesses, and organizations working every day to defend Ukraine and celebrate the strength of its people. The war continues. So does the work.
