This February, Nova Ukraine is pleased to support the exhibition of the esteemed contemporary Ukrainian artist, Ivan Marchuk. From February 11 through February 24, over 60 of Marchuk’s unique works will be featured at the Palazzo della Cancelleria in the historic Italian city of Rome. Furthermore, an inauguration ceremony for this exhibition will be taking place the day before opening on February 10, 2025.
Ivan Marchuk is known for his use and development of the artistic technique of plaiting, which he employs to weave the human eye through his complex and magical Ukrainian landscapes and portraits. With his works previously featured in over 200 solo exhibitions on 5 continents around the world, Ivan Marchuk is a celebrated maestro and an important contributor to modern-day Ukrainian art and culture.

Exhibition organizer, Weronika Marczuk, highlights Marchuk’s significance by stating his art is “an opportunity to feel the depth of the Ukrainian soul, its resilience and inexhaustible potential” in which “one can understand where Ukrainians draw their strength from today.” As the third year of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine approaches, Marchuk’s art remains ever-relevant as a testament to the Ukrainian people’s strength of character through the adversities of wartime.
In partnership with Nova Ukraine, this celebration of Marchuk’s work was made possible thanks to The Friends of Ukraine Organization and with the cooperation of Ambassador Andrii Yurash from the Embassy of Ukraine to the Holy See of the Order of Malta. Furthermore, we invite our supporters to engage with this incredible exhibit, experience Marchuk’s remarkable artworks for themselves, and share their thoughts on social media.
