Public Presentation of Oleksii’s Koval Life and Work

Oleksii Koval was born in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1996 he graduated from Republican School of Art and continued his education in the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (2002), Beginning in 2000 he began to work in monumental art and has created approximately 100 pieces in Ukraine and abroad. These are frescoes, mosaics, ornaments and drafts of stained-glass windows. He discovereed enameling as his medium at the enamel workshop of Ivan Kyrychenko in 2006 and he immediately realized that this was the technique he was meant to use. To date, Oleksii has had more than 40 solo exhibitions around the world of his large and monumental works in enamel. He began teaching only recently. He came to the US last year as a refugee from the Russian invasion of Ukraine and is now giving master workshops throughout the US to support his stay until he can return home.
