Since the beginning of the political turmoil in Ukraine, a group of independent filmmakers is documenting the events, calling themselves BABYLON’13. The filmmakers were always in the middle of the action, often protected with helmets and bullet proof vests.«Stronger than arms» is the first full length documentary by #BABYLON’13.
This film takes its audience right into the middle of the Maydan Revolution, into the smoke of the burning barricades, the deserted childhood home of Yanukovych or the battle for Donezk airport. «Stronger than arms» is Ukraine’s history that heats hearts up. Remembering events and people, who from the time of EuroMaidan to the war in the East are building a new Ukraine. «Stronger than arms» shows the evolution of Ukrainian realities from the spontaneous attempt to capture the Administration of the President on December 1 to the bloody battles continuing today in the ruins of Donetsk airport. It gives a chance to the viewer to feel the uplifting and desperation of the Maidan and the war in the Eastern Ukraine.

After the film, Dr. Valeria Korablyova will answer questions about Euromaydan. She is a Professor of Philosophy at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine) and a Carnegie Visiting Research Fellow at Stanford. Dr. Korablyova participated in both Ukrainian Maydan protests as an activist and converted her personal experience into a number of academic presentations.
