Official Statement from Nova Ukraine on Damage to Medical Warehouse in Lviv — November 19, 2025

Early this morning, Russia launched one of the largest drone-and-missile attacks in months across Ukraine — 476 drones and 48 missiles striking residential buildings, energy facilities, and logistics hubs in freezing temperatures. At least 25 civilians, including three children, were killed and more than 80 injured. Our hearts are with every family affected by today’s violence.

During this nationwide assault, one of Nova Ukraine’s medical warehouses was damaged. No Nova Ukraine staff were harmed.

“We are profoundly grateful that our team is safe,” said Ambassador Erin E. McKee, CEO of Nova Ukraine. “Strikes like this are designed to break humanitarian supply chains just as winter begins. They will not succeed.”

The warehouse contained medical supplies and in-kind donations designated to support hospitals and clinics across Ukraine. Losing any portion of this inventory creates immediate challenges for medical teams already working under immense pressure. As Oksana Gologorskaya, VP of Medical Projects, noted, “Our partners count on these supplies every single day. Losing even part of this stock creates immediate gaps for medical teams working under daily missiles. We are already rerouting equipment and preparing replacements so that medical personnel and healthcare facilities  do not face interruptions in care.”

Our operations team responded immediately, securing the site and beginning a full damage assessment. Some shipments may be delayed, and a portion of equipment may not arrive as planned. The medical team has already begun notifying partners and grantees. Our warehouse staff are on-site cataloging losses, and we will share verified information as soon as it is safe and responsible to do so.

Despite today’s disruption, our medical programs continue without interruption.

“Any loss of medical supplies has a direct human impact, especially during winter,” Erin McKee added. “We will replace what was destroyed quickly — and we are deeply grateful to our supporters whose generosity makes that possible.”

A Request for Support

We are now racing to re-deploy and replace the supplies required by the more than 600 hospitals and medical clinics we support across Ukraine. The need is immediate. The situation is dire.

If it is at all possible during this painful and life-altering moment, we ask you to please reach as deeply as you can to help us secure and deliver the medical supplies that must be sent to Ukraine without delay through our Emergency Medical Supply Replenishment Fund. Your generosity today can and will quite literally save lives.

Your love, compassion, and support are needed now more than ever. Every dollar counts. No contribution is too small to matter.

Only together can we ensure that those suffering today—and those who will need help in the coming days, weeks, and months—receive the care they deserve.

From all of us at Nova Ukraine, thank you for standing with us in this moment of profound need.

McKee issued the following statement: “We welcome this investigation. Accountability and the rule of law are essential to a well-functioning democracy. Nobody is above the law. While we support NABU and SAPO, we also advocate for due process, evidence, and independent judicial review. And we expect the government to safeguard the independence of anti-corruption institutions. We support a full, independent, and transparent investigation of all individuals implicated. Five Kilometers from the Front, One Month Without Power

How Nova Ukraine's Warming Project kept stabilization points running through the winter of 2025–2026 There is a place in eastern Ukraine, roughly five kilometers from the front line, where the electricity has been gone for a month. The wounded keep arriving. The medics keep working. And the lights stay on, because of a generator. Kateryna, who visited the site recently for Nova Ukraine's press office, described what she saw plainly. “Generators aren't just saving the day,” she said. “They're the only thing keeping this location powered so it doesn't lose electricity.” This is the work of the Warming Project.
