Over the past few months, Nova Ukraine has distributed eight X-ray machines to the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kirovohrad regions. Four more are planned to be delivered this year and are currently being manufactured in Ukraine for us.
Doctors report that the machines can handle up to 100 images per day, depending on the workload of the medical facility. The X-ray machines delivered in 2024 have already helped over 12,000 citizens of Ukraine. The 34 X-ray machines delivered in 2022-2023 have helped more than 200,000 citizens of Ukraine. These machines can be lifesavers for almost any patient. It is critically important that X-ray examinations can be done on-site, saving doctors valuable time in determining the necessary treatment.
Here’s one of the thousands of feedbacks from doctors:
“Thank you for the equipment you provided: the X-ray machine, the operating table, and the surgical lamp. They help us perform our work effectively every day and save as many lives of our people as possible.
Today, we received a severely wounded patient with multiple shrapnel injuries to the chest, left leg, and face. If we didn’t have the X-ray machine, we wouldn’t have been able to confidently determine that there was no open cranial trauma and would have spent more time investigating it. With the X-ray machine, we were able to promptly diagnose hemopneumothorax and drain the pleural cavity, preventing a progressive deterioration of the patient’s condition. Despite a four-hour tourniquet, we saw an opportunity and managed to save the young man’s leg by performing a necessary fasciotomy with proper lighting and on the correct surgical table.
This is just one soldier among hundreds. Stabilized, with his leg saved, he was transferred to the next stages of evacuation. Thank you.”
