Advocacy Efforts
We’re thrilled to announce that Oleksandra Matviichuk, the human rights lawyer and head of the Centre for Civil Liberties organization which was awarded the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize, has joined Nova Ukraine as a Goodwill Ambassador. She will focus on amplifying our advocacy efforts and raising awareness about human rights violations and russian war crimes.
Oleksandra's achievements are remarkable. She was nominated to the United Nations Committee against Torture. She also made history as Ukraine’s first female candidate to a UN treaty body. Following the 2022 full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Matviichuk has been a vocal advocate for justice, pushing for the creation of a special ‘hybrid court’ to investigate russian war crimes and human rights violations.
