Vice President of the Empower Pillar
Iuliia Sergeieva has joined Nova Ukraine as Vice President of the EMPOWER Pillar. As VP of Empower, Iuliia spearheads Nova Ukraine's strategic transition from emergency aid to sustainable recovery and long-term development. She oversees a diverse portfolio encompassing education, mental health, youth leadership, veteran reintegration, and cultural preservation initiatives designed to build resilience and self-sufficiency across Ukraine. By cultivating global partnerships and executing multi-year strategies, Iuliia ensures that individuals and communities have the tools and institutional support they need to thrive in the post-war era.
Iuliia brings 17 years of experience that includes leading humanitarian, recovery, and governance programs at scale — reaching more than 15 million people and strengthening public systems and services across more than 45 municipalities in Ukraine. A PRINCE2-certified project manager and qualified lawyer, she has designed and delivered multi-sector programs funded by USAID, BHA, and the governments of Canada, the UK, Belgium, and Sweden. Her career spans senior advisory roles at the Ministry of Justice and Parliament of Ukraine, Head of Legal at the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, and leadership of GBV response, prevention and psychosocial support initiatives at UNFPA.
She holds a Master of Science in International Business from "Oxford Brookes University", UK and a Master's degree in Law from the "National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", Ukraine.
