Breakthrough Victory: Ukraine Aid Bills Passed House!

Breakthrough Victory: Ukraine Aid Bills Passed House!

We have some incredible news to share! Thanks to relentless efforts and unwavering support from people like you, the U.S. House has passed two critical Ukrainian Aid Bills, H.R. 8035 (311-112) and H.R. 8038 (360-58), showcasing bipartisan support.

Today’s U.S. House votes are a significant step, unblocking this critical legislation’s path into the Senate and toward final signing into law by President Biden, which we anticipate will happen soon. H.R. 8035 and H.R. 8038 will ensure the swift provision of military support to Ukraine by expediting the rapid delivery of military resources to Ukraine, including 155mm ammunition and advanced air defense missiles.

This achievement marks a pivotal moment in our ongoing support for Ukraine, proving once again that advocacy works and collective action can bring about real change.

A Collective Victory

Our recent advocacy summit organized with the American Coalition for Ukraine, which convened over 500 constituents from 47 states, was instrumental in demonstrating the widespread support for Ukraine. Participants engaged directly with elected officials in over 350 meetings to advocate for Ukrainian aid and passage of these vital bills. The newly approved aid is a lifeline for millions of Ukrainians who face hardship and risk of death and is a testament to the power of united voices.

Thank You!

None of this would have been possible without your passionate involvement. Your voice and your actions have propelled this movement forward. Each email you sent, each event you attended, and each conversation you had made an irrevocable impact. Your support fuels our continuous effort to aid Ukraine’s fight for liberty and resilience.

We are stronger together!

Ohio Becomes Fifth US State to Tackle Russia’s Abduction of Ukrainian Children

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) Nova Ukraine applauds the Ohio State Senate for becoming the fifth U.S. state legislature to introduce a resolution condemning Russia’s forced abduction of Ukrainian children. The bipartisan bill (SCR 21) introduced by State Senators Thomas F. Patton (R-Strongsville) and Kent Smith (D-Euclid) “condemns the Russian Federation for the wrongful and illegal abduction, forcible transfer, and subsequent illegal adoption and indoctrination of children from Ukraine.” Ohio joins Maryland, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Wisconsin to take up this issue. To date, only Wisconsin has held a full vote and adopted the resolution. Nova Ukraine Director of Advocacy Aleksandr Krapivkin says:

When the Pain Becomes a Part of You

“Nova Ukraine's new Vector of Resilience joint pilot project helps Ukraine's veteran support specialists address burnout and secondary traumatic stress.” The program's first residential trainings, launched by Nova Ukraine and its partners, were recently held in Ukraine's Volyn Oblast. Mariia, a support specialist, almost didn't attend. Leaving the veterans and families she supported for three days filled her with guilt she couldn't shake. She worried about how they would manage without her. But when she found herself among psychologists, social workers, healthcare professionals, and community specialists who shared the same responsibilities, something changed.
