The New York Jets Donate 100K to Nova Ukraine

Donate

As Ukraine braces for another grueling winter of war, now is the time for fundraising efforts to step up. Any delay or diminishment would sadly but surely take Ukraine down the most devastating path in the coming months.

It is with keen awareness and immeasurable commitment that Nova Ukraine pledges to solidify financial support from donors large and small.

Thankfully, the Jets Foundation, on behalf of the NY Jets, has just announced another donation of $100K to Nova Ukraine. This donation is in addition to the $1M commitment made earlier and split among Nova Ukraine and its partners, which include Razom for Ukraine and The Ukrainian National Women’s League of America.

Ukraine’s dire situation is personal for Jets Chairman Robert Johnson and his wife, Suzanne. Ms. Johnson’s roots lie in Ukraine. Her Ukrainian parents emigrated to NYC after WWII. Upon arrival, they settled into a Ukrainian neighborhood to raise their daughter in their homeland’s culture. Despite living her whole life in the US, Suzanne Johnson has a heart that weeps for Ukraine and its people.

Already a trusted, well-regarded NGO, Nova Ukraine was seen as highly deserving of the Foundation’s generous donation. With our well-coordinated on-the-ground work in Ukraine, excellence in financial reporting and transparency, and overall effectiveness in sourcing and distributing everything from power generators to baby blankets, Nova Ukraine’s team of volunteers (600 in the US and 3500 in Ukraine and Europe) know how to get the aid where it needs to go.

Since 2022 alone, Nova Ukraine volunteers have delivered almost 22,000 tons of humanitarian aid and served almost 3 million meals to Ukraine’s courageous defenders and civilians. Our leadership team has twice been recognized by President Zelensky for our dedicated service to Ukraine. To date, there is no aspect of life during war that we have not been able to address. Nor any group of civilians we have not been able to help.

In addition to supplying immediate aid for Ukraine’s children, families, people with disabilities, and the internally displaced, Nova Ukraine has also helped care for beloved pets and other animals affected by war.

Nova Ukraine has secured grants to help small businesses stay open, keep people working, and maintain the economy. Additionally, Nova Ukraine is working with grantors to help rectify the war’s ruinous effects on farming and the environment.

As we launch into a new year, Nova Ukraine is immensely grateful to the New York Jets for their second generous donation. With their help and yours, we can continue our work, helping to save and improve lives as winter bears down on Ukraine for another season of war.

Donate. Impact. Change.

Congress Raises the Cost of Putin’s War in Ukraine

WASHINGTON – Nova Ukraine applauds Congress's bipartisan passage of the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act 2026, sweeping sanctions legislation that ratchets up pressure on Moscow to end its illegal war. Nova Ukraine CEO Ambassador Erin E. McKee said: "We're grateful that Congress has finally passed real sanctions with teeth against Putin and the Russian officials waging this war, and we urge the President to sign this legislation into law without delay. Sanctions bite when they cause real economic consequences. These target the Russian defense sector and the foreign suppliers propping it up, and they go after Putin's so-called shadow fleet of tankers that has quietly financed this invasion for years.

When the Lights Go Out, Childhood Shouldn’t Have To

A new solar power system at a high school in Chernihiv Oblast will help keep heat, water, classrooms, and its shelter running through Ukraine’s hardest winters, giving students something children everywhere should be able to count on: school. Last winter, a school in Chernihiv Oblast had more days without power than with it. When the grid went down, the generators on site weren’t strong enough to power the building. Heating failed. The shelter went cold. Students who should have been in class were logging on remotely instead — if they could log on at all. This winter will be different.

Nova Ukraine Supports Independent Anti-Corruption Investigation, Emphasizes Due Process

(KYIV, Ukraine)--Following Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s resignation amid a NABU/SAPO investigation into an alleged scheme involving officials in the Prosecutor General’s Office and fraudulent call centers, Nova Ukraine CEO Ambassador Erin E. McKee issued the following statement: “We welcome this investigation. Accountability and the rule of law are essential to a well-functioning democracy. Nobody is above the law. While we support NABU and SAPO, we also advocate for due process, evidence, and independent judicial review. And we expect the government to safeguard the independence of anti-corruption institutions. We support a full, independent, and transparent investigation of all individuals implicated.
