Teach for Ukraine – Education for Every Child
👩🏫4 = 🎓4🧒
As part of Nova Ukraine’s continual support of education in Ukraine, we have partnered with the Teach for Ukraine – a charity, whose mission is to provide high-quality education for every child in Ukraine. TfU is an independent partner in a global network of charities Teach for All, spanning 60 countries on six continents.

Mission: 🧑🎓 ➡️ 🧑🏫 ➡️ 🏫

TfU recruits leaders among recent non-teaching college graduates, trains them for a teaching position and connects them with partner schools, that have vacant teaching positions. Each participant is employed at the partner school for 2 years, bringing their enthusiasm, professionalism and new perspective and enriching the students’ lives both during classes and beyond. The program supports each participant, covering the cost of a Masters in teaching as well as a monthly stipend for the first two years of employment as a teacher at a partner school (in addition to a regular teacher’s salary).
📚 History
TfU is operating in Ukraine since 2017. In the first three years >50 new teachers were trained and supported, impacting over 1500 students in 19 schools. The school partners span five regions of Ukraine: L’viv, Kyiv, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions with plans to expand further in the next few years.
Participation in the program is extremely competitive with less than 1 in 10 applicants successfully graduating from the program. The rigorous selection includes several rounds of interviews in order to select the best candidates for future leaders of education.
Selected participants are immersed in an intense 5-week summer course. Upon completing this preparation, newly minted teachers continue to learn through the entirety of their 2-year teaching assignment with support from the program and other participants.
🇺🇦 Why support now?
Education is a future of any nation. Opportunities are distributed unevenly with most resources going to children in the cities. Young and ambitious leaders tend to leave small hometowns in search of the exciting opportunities, leaving their communities bereft of talent and ambition. Teach for Ukraine encourages the most competitive candidates to move to a small town, promoting diversity, exchange of ideas and development for both the participants: the new teacher and the school.
