Nova Ukraine CEO visits destroyed medical warehouse in Lviv
On November 19, during one of the largest drone and missile attacks in months, Russia destroyed one of Nova Ukraine’s key medical warehouses in Lviv. The facility stored medical humanitarian supplies intended for hospitals, clinics and frontline healthcare teams across Ukraine. No Nova Ukraine staff were harmed.
Nova Ukraine CEO Ambassador Erin McKee was in Ukraine during the attack. She visited Lviv soon after to see the damage firsthand.
“My first feeling was relief that none of our personnel were harmed”, she highlighted, assuring that any other losses are replaceable.
Ambassador McKee described the warehouse as one of the vital hubs for distributing medical supplies across the country. It housed consumables, commodities, equipment, a forklift and essential tools used to support hospitals and clinics across the country. Nova Ukraine supports around 600 Ukrainian medical facilities.

A blow to Ukraine’s medical system
Ambassador McKee emphasized that the strike took place at a time when medical professionals across Ukraine are working under extreme pressure, especially in winter.
“Particularly in winter, with this kind of destruction and taking life-saving equipment, life-saving consumables, and life-saving commodities out of the hands of the heroic medical professionals here in Ukraine, is an atrocity.”
Despite the shock, she spoke about the immediate, coordinated response from Nova Ukraine’s operations team and local emergency services.
“I’m extraordinarily proud of our operations team, who immediately responded and worked with first responders, the firefighters, to extinguish the flames and assess the damage.”
Restoration work has already begun. Nova Ukraine is in constant contact with all partners. Though there may be some supply delays, the team is working 24/7 to close these gaps.
“We have three containers on the way right now. We’re working immediately on moving out other supplies and commodities in another facility to make space so that the stream of vital life-saving aid continues uninterrupted.”
A message to donors and supporters
Ambassador McKee also expressed gratitude to the donors whose support enabled the medical aid in this warehouse.
“Thank you for the tremendous outpouring of support we received as soon as the news hit. I was here just for a couple of days and felt to my bones and in my soul the fear and the anger that comes from being a victim of terror — of tyranny. I want everybody to know that everything we can do to help Ukraine continue saving lives and supporting them in this fight is worth every penny, every moment.”
“And I want to ask you to please do all that you can to help us restore the lifeline of medical supplies that are so needed here in Ukraine, so that we can show Putin that this type of destruction will not stand, and it will not stop Nova Ukraine from helping the people of Ukraine in their hour of need.”
