Dear Friend,
The war in Ukraine continues to affect every aspect of daily life. Hospitals work through blackouts. Children attend lessons in underground shelters. Families are separated and displaced. But within each of these challenges are the stories of people who keep going — and the community of supporters who stand beside them.
This July, your support helped Nova Ukraine reach more people with life-saving aid, hands-on training, and ongoing advocacy efforts. Whether it was a first-aid kit delivered, a summer camp session for displaced kids, or an on-the-ground bomb shelter built, you made it happen.
Here’s what you helped us do this month across our four focus areas: HEAL, BUILD, EMPOWER, and ADVOCATE — and the stories that bring them to life.
Plus, nonprofit recognition, community highlights, and a look at upcoming events.

HEAL: Saving Lives and Strengthening Healthcare
Ukraine’s healthcare system is under immense strain. Hospitals near the frontlines face daily shortages of staff, electricity, and essential supplies. In this environment, the need for medical aid is constant and growing.

Nova Ukraine was honored to receive national recognition for our medical aid work, earning first place in the “Charity in Healthcare” category at Charitable Ukraine 2024, the highest national recognition for humanitarian work in Ukraine.
Through your support, Nova Ukraine continues to supply hospitals and clinics with trauma kits, diagnostic tools, emergency power systems, and rehabilitation resources. We’ve also expanded a strategic pain management initiative in collaboration with Ukraine’s Ministry of Health and supported nationwide medical training and education programs — including the launch of seven multidisciplinary Centers of Excellence in Rehabilitation. These hubs of modern rehabilitation provide intensive training for healthcare teams. They also serve to introduce evidence-based rehabilitation methods and foster a professional network of practitioners.

BUILD: Fostering Long-Term Recovery and Stability

Across Ukraine, reliable access to clean water, electricity, and safe shelter remains a daily concern, particularly in the eastern and southern regions. In July, Nova Ukraine’s BUILD initiative focused on both reconstruction and emergency readiness.
Highlights include:
- Continuing to expand Nova Stash, our emergency supply initiative that enables rapid response from our partners to strikes near Kharkiv and Sumy
- Supporting repairs and energy upgrades at schools and medical facilities
- We also produced and delivered 70 potbelly stoves and 88 rocket stoves to communities in the Kherson region — giving families a way to cook hot meals even when power and gas are down

EMPOWERing Ukrainians for a Resilient Future

From classrooms and summer camps to STEM festivals and tournaments, July was filled with moments that reminded us what resilience looks like and what’s possible when people come together to support one another.
We were proud to support this year’s Engineering Week, which reached 190,000 students through 10 hands-on festivals across Ukraine, blending science, math, history, technology, and music to turn STEM education into a celebration of curiosity and imagination.

We continue to support the technical education program “School,” partnering with Pekelnya Kuhnya. This hands-on course teaches skills like appliance repair, electronics, and 3D modeling. A total of 152 people, many with no previous experience, graduated this cycle. With these skills, they can find work, start businesses, and meet community needs.
Throughout the summer, we are supporting camp programs for displaced children across Ukraine. These spaces offer a variety of activities, providing stability, friendship, and a sense of normalcy in the midst of war.
In Kyiv, we marked a milestone in our support for veterans by co-hosting the Sixth National Pétanque Tournament and launching the All-Ukrainian Veterans Pétanque League with our partner MARLOG-CADUCEI. Seven teams from across Ukraine competed in a seven-hour match, showing how adaptive sports can help veterans recover, stay active, and reconnect with each other.

ADVOCATE: Amplifying Ukraine’s Voice
After a brief but tense period of uncertainty, the U.S. has resumed weapons shipments to Ukraine, including Patriot missiles, to help protect civilians from intensifying russian attacks. This decision followed sustained bipartisan pressure and grassroots advocacy from across the country.
On July 14, 2025, President Trump announced that the U.S. will supply air defense systems and long-range weapons to NATO allies for transfer to Ukraine — and warned of 100% secondary tariffs on Russia if a peace agreement is not reached within 50 days.

Nova Ukraine, alongside partners from the American Coalition for Ukraine, helped organize emergency call-a-thons and mobilized thousands of supporters to contact lawmakers to respond to the period of uncertainty. These collective efforts helped ensure continued bipartisan support.
We are pleased to report that on July 18, the EU and UK approved the 18th sanctions package, one of the strongest to date.
We reiterate our full support for the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025, which would expand economic pressure on the Kremlin and its enablers through powerful, non-military tools.
The new sanctions hit at the core of Putin’s war financing — cutting revenue, limiting military logistics, and pushing back against global sanctions evasion.
RECOGNITION: A Shared Achievement

We are honored to be named one of the Top 3 Charities Supporting Ukraine by Impactful Ninja! This recognition is a reflection of what we’ve achieved together since the full-scale invasion began in 2022:
- $129+ million in humanitarian aid and services delivered
- 11.5 million people supported
- 3.6 million meals served

Your support makes this possible. Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every message shared has helped deliver medical supplies, education, fuel, food, shelter, and hope to communities across Ukraine.
