For more than two years our community of San Francisco and Bay Area helps wounded Ukrainian soldiers with spinal injuries. Please come to a potluck picnic at Lake Chabot Regional Park and meet Dmytro Medved and Mykhailo Lialia, two war heros currently treated in a reabilitation Center “Next Step” for Paralyzed in Los Angeles.
Dmytro is a 33-year old Ukrainian Army Captain, Commander of the Air Defense Missile Platoon of the 95th Airmobile Brigade. During a firefight with Russian and pro-Russian enemy in March 2015, Dmytro was severely wounded and suffered injuries on his spinal cord.
Mykhailo is 25 year old soldier from the Danylo Galytskiy 24th Mechanized Brigade who suffered severe wounds in his spinal cord during an artillery shelling by Russian and pro-Russian troops in Logvynovo district not far from Debaltseve. Even though he had a spinal cord surgery at Kyiv Insitute of Neuro Surgery, he is still paralyzed waist down.
