The props for the mini sessions were the family heirlooms and special items brought from Ukraine – ceramic pitchers, baskets, blankets, and embroidered household items. Iva and Olga provided the elements of the traditional Ukrainian outfits from their private collections. Some of those items were also brought from Ukraine, and some were made specifically for this event – Olga sewed authentic colorful Ukrainian skirts, aprons and belts, and Iva made gorgeous Ukrainian winter wreaths and sewed Ukrainian traditional women’s jackets and men’s pants (sharovary). Iva also brought to the session her latest collection of traditional jewelry that she designs and makes herself. Those authentic items made our session truly unique and picturesque, and allowed to recreate historical Ukrainian images.
