Q&A with Ukrainian Emerging Leaders

Nova Ukraine and MaydanSF are proud to host a community meeting with the first members of Stanford’s Ukrainian Emerging Leaders Program, Olexandr Starodubtsev, Oleksandra Matviichuk, and Dmytro Romanovych.
Oleksandra Matviichuk is a human rights defender who created the civic initiative Euromaidan SOS, which has brought together thousands of people to provide legal aid for persecuted protesters. Her goal is to guide the energy of active people and to establish a network of horizontal movements who will work to create sustainable reforms and institutions.
Dmytro Romanovych is responsible for deregulation reform and for improving the business climate in Ukraine, resulting in the abolition of hundreds of Soviet-era regulations. His goal is to create a how-to guide for reformers based on the success he has already had.
Olexandr Starodubtsev founded the electronic public procurement system ProZorro, which many consider the most successful reform since the 2014 Revolution of Dignity. His focus is to advance public administration within the Ukrainian government.
